Lex is passionate about sharing stories, social justice, and using the arts as a catalyst for social change. He has completed studies in Music, Anthropology and Arts Management, and has worked in the Community Arts and Cultural Development, and Arts and Health sectors for over 10 years as an Artist, Facilitator, and Project Manager.
Lex has been creating things and thinking critically about the world since he can remember, and now works across a range of artistic fields. He is currently producing abstract textile pieces, quirky watercolour and ink illustrations, and random sound bites that could be called music. He also continues to explore various media as a way to learn, as well as to express the ways in which he experiences life. In his personal life, Lex is undergoing a gender transition, which informs much of his arts practice, with focus on personal identities, body politics, and transformation. Lex sings with the Men of West, volunteers as a telephone counsellor with QLife (National LGBTIQ Counselling Service), and can be found mindfully making mandalas on Mondays.
